JINGO

Jingo is an instrument that makes its sounds by hitting its Face. Jingo is the biggest drum that is used these days. Jingo entered Korea during Goryhe Dynasty from the Song Dynasty in China. This was played in Palace Music, Yeonrhaeak, and Jaerhaeak. Especially in Jongmyu Jaerhaeak and Munmyu Jarhaeak, the player put Jingo under the terrace stone while above the terrace stone put a drum called Julgo which has similar features and smaller in size until now.
Body of the drum made of wood and colored with red. Then, put a metal ring on both sides. For the surface of the drum is made of animal skin, then put Taegukmuni and using blue, red, black, green, and yellow, color on the side. For the drumstick, using wood, and covered the end with clothes and put red tassel.
Jingo is usually played at the start of the music strongly ten times. And played twice every end of the passage while playing the music.
