Jing originated from the Ming Dynasty during the Goryeo dynasty in Korea. During that time, it used in Palace for Yeonrhyak, Jaerhaeak. It was also used in the army either for the military march or to signal something. Aside from those it was used in Gut, in Buddhism temple while praying and when people were enjoying the Pungmulori

Jing used metal. They heat the metal then hit it with a metal hammer to make it thin. This would be hit by metal hammer until it can make proper sounds and form its shape. Then, on the side of its circumstance, they will make a hole and put a thread to use as its handle. For the part where the player will hit, they make it circular and put thin lines to help Jing to have better sounds. For the Chae, they put clothes before they use it.

Jing can make from soft to loud and rough sounds. Jing can be played by a stand position or put on a wood frame, or the floor depends on the music. For the case when people play by standing, hold Jing in one hand, and hold Chae in the other hand and hit in the middle of the Jing like softly pushing, then the sounds will echo with Uung-- sounds like a wave.
